Description
This species called Doña Ana or Doñana is a small spherical cactus, native to Mexico, covered with hard and pointed spines. It does not exceed 5-6 cm in height and resembles a small pincushion. When it blooms, it usually forms a large central white flower.
In Mexican folk medicine it is used as a natural remedy for rheumatism and bladder weakness. From the fruits a wine is produced.
