Description

Aloe vera is probably native to the Arab region and is a particularly effective medicinal plant with extremely versatile applications. Its cultivation is concentrated in areas with a tropical and subtropical climate, where the stem and rhizome can reach a circumference of 30 cm and the plant forms erect yellow or red inflorescences. When grown in temperate climates, however, it is very unlikely that the plant will be able to flower and produce seeds.

The juice extracted from the aquifer parenchyma of aloe vera leaves (aloe gel) is more effective fresh and is used for both internal and external use (strengthens the immune system, is effective against eye diseases and bronchial diseases, etc.) . It is also present as an ingredient in numerous medicinal preparations, as well as in cosmetic products such as shampoos, shower gels, skin creams and many others.

When using it, it must always be taken into account that the aloin contained in the leaves has a laxative effect and, if consumed in large quantities, can destabilize the electrolyte balance and even lead to cramps and symptoms of poisoning.
